Situated just off Whitehall, HM Treasury has undergone a multi million pound refurbishment carried out by Bovis for architects Foster and Partners.
One element of the refurbishment of HM Treasury was the introduction into the building of two double lift shafts from ground floor to fourth floor.
Architectural Metalworkers. CMF Limited were awarded the contract for the design and build of the steel and glass lift enclosures and cantilevered balustrades to the links.
Kite Glass were delighted to be chosen by CMF to assist in the design, specification, supply and installation of the glass to the lift structure and balustrade.
Working to CAD drawings supplied by CMF Limited, Kite Glass manufactured glass to tolerances tighter than normally recognised industry standards.
Two x 8mm toughened heatsoaked glass panels laminated together with a 1.5mm PVB Interlayer. Screen printed horizontal borders enclosing a screen printed 2mm dia. dot matrix design. All edges were polished.
Horizontal aluminium sections were bonded to the rear of each panel with structural silicone to provide hidden fixings once the glass was installed and bolted through the angles to the main structure.
8mm toughened heatsoaked laminated to 8mm heat strengthened with 1.5mm PVB interlayer. All edges polished.
