Battersea Power Station Underground Station

The Grade II listed Battersea Power Station was central to a large development project. Providing thousands of new jobs and homes, its connectivity into the City is ensured through the Northern Line Extension (NLE) with the construction of the new Battersea Power Station’s London Underground station.

With experience in providing laminated glass to a number of train station regeneration projects, Kite Glass was once more the chosen provider for the station’s safety and architectural glass.

The supplied glass included 106 low iron, toughened SentryGlas® laminated panels, located alongside the station’s escalators and featuring a white screenprinted design to coincide with the escalator shape. For these panels, thicker 31.78mm glass was used to ensure passenger safety nearby the escalators. A further 18 panels were also supplied to create a partition within the station using 24.89mm, low iron, toughened SentryGlas® laminate.

All panels included CNC polishing, smoothed edges and a specified logo position. They were also triple screen printed and had fixation holes drilled, to then be individually banded on special frames for site access.
